“Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside”
Altered Art Shadow Box
I came across this shadow box picture and thought I could do something more with it.
I have used vintage images of 1920’s/1930’s bathing belles and also had a vintage style postcard advertising the Romney Hythe to Dymchurch Railway which I have resized and stuck on one of the beach huts. To finish it off I used a selection of vintage letter tiles from vintage games.
Picture measures 10 ½” x 6 ¾”.

Victorian Paper Mache Pansy Powder Pot
Sweet little powder pot which has faded over the years from pink to a creamy colour although the colour on the pansies is still crisp and bright. Pot is decorated with Pansies ¾ of the way around and also on the lid.
Lift the lid and the inside is deep pink and you can still smell the contents.
It is in a rather shabby chic condition with some marks and damage which I feel is commensurate with its age. Would look lovely in your shabby chic bedroom or bathroom and could be used to keep trinkets or cotton wool balls in.
Measures just under 3” high and 3 ½” round.
Margaret Tarrant Little Bo Peep Print
This is a lovely Margaret Tarrant print of Little Bo Peep.
It is in it's original frame of carved brown wood with
hanging hooks on the back. It is in very good vintage
Condition.
Measures approx 16.5 cms x 21.5 cms.
1930’s Crinoline Lady Crumb Tray And Brush
This is a wonderful vintage crumb tray and brush probably dating to the 1930’s. It is made of wood and is hand painted in a very pretty blue. It is decorated with a crinoline lady holding a basket of flowers. The brush is in the shape of the same lady and is painted on both sides. It is all in very good vintage condition apart from some minor wear and paint loss particularly to the edge of the tray. There is also what looks like a crack that has been repaired to the lady’s bonnet. It measure 8’’ x 9.5’’.

Pierrot & Pierette
Art Deco Picture Pink & Gold
This picture is one of a pair (please see other listing) and both are truly exquisite. The picture is very art deco with Pierrot playing his lute and singing to Pierette as she stands below the trees
The predominant colours in this picture are light and dark pink with a gold background with black art deco stylised tree. It has gold highlights around Pierrettes dress, on the stones and in the sky.
The pictures are very delicately detailed – I have not taken them fully apart but think they might be book plates. Picture has been signed in the corner but I am unable to make it out properly - I

.Home’s Best – 1930’s
Cottage and Garden With Poem Picture
I just love this wonderful picture which is typical Art Deco style of the 1930’s
of cottage and garden with two figures in Crinoline dresses. The picture is so full
of colour all of which are very fresh and outlined in gold.
There is a little homely written on it – “The sun may shine upon the East, Or sink
in the glory of the West, But Home’s the spot of all the world, where it shines brightest
and shines best! - AW Meek.
In its original dark wooden frame which is faux metal in appearance with a blue green
inner band. Measures 12” x 8 ½”.
Picture can either be hung up and has hook or has a back stand and can be stood up
on a shelf or unit.
“Ooh La La” Lovely
Wooden French Wine Trug Carrier
I actually used this in the garden for a while hence its lovely soft grey patina
to the wood and have used it as I displayed it but of course could be used for what
it was intended as a wine carrier.
Each side has Bouvez Glace! And each end has Avec la Caisse Rafraichissante E. Verrier
une pause s’impose! Printed on them.
Measures 11” wide x 4” deep without the handle and 9 ½” deep with the handle. In
good solid condition.
A really wonderful French shabby chic item that looks as much at home in the garden
as it does in the kitchen.
Grannies Button And Sewing Tin
When I was a child I used to love to rummage through my Nan’s button tin, which held
all kinds of goodies and I still have a fascination for buttons and as I have too
many tins I decided to put a collection of vintage sewing items together to start
your own Grannies tin (even if you’re not a Granny!!!)
Vintage tin which has cross stitch style roses printed on the top and around the
sides. Tin measures 6 ½” x 4 ¾” deep and is suitably shabby chic with scratches
to paint giving it an air of having been used and loved.
Inside I have put a large machine skein of orange cotton, a reel of brown cotton
together with two small yellow and brown reels, a bag of buttons in colours to match
the tin, a length of lemon ribbon, a length of brown fancy ric rac, tapestry wools
in orange and dark gold, three hose mending cotton cards, a tape measure, a length
of lace, two little hand crochet doilies, a floral scarf clip, a packet of tiny needles,
a Sewing Susan full of needles and finally a hand embroidered little needle case.
Pierrot & Pierette
Art Deco Picture Yellow & Blue
This picture is one of a pair and they are both truly exquisite. The picture is
very art deco with Pierrot singing to Pierrette as she sits under a tree looking
at a bird that is sitting on a branch beside her.
The predominant colours in this picture are yellow and orange with a blue background
and has black art deco stylised tree. It has gold highlights around her dress ,on
the stones and in the sky.
The pictures are very delicately detailed – I have not taken them fully apart but
think they might be book plates. Picture has been signed in the corner but I am
unable to make it out properly - I think it is Lajour Millar. I would say these
have been recently reframed as the frames appear modern to me – so saying the hooks
on the back together with the twine look old.
Picture measures 5” x 9” including frame which is dark gold with light gold detail.

Floral Cruet Set On Tray
Pretty ditsy flowers have been hand painted onto this little cruet set and they sit on a leaf shaped tray
Made of early plastic there are no markings on it
In really great condition the lids on the salt and pepper fit nice and tightly.
Pots measure approximately:
2” high each and leaf tray 4 ¼” across at its widest point.
1930’s Crawfords Biscuit Tin
This is a rare 1930’s Crawfords biscuit tin. It held White Heather Assorted Scotch
Shortbread. The paper label has age related marks and the tin has a few dings and
some discolouration as you would expect from a tin of this age. It has a paper label
on the base showing the different biscuits it would have contained. It measures 11.5’’
x 7.5’’.
“Wonderful Mother” - 1930’S
Verse Picture
Lovely 1930’s motto verse picture about a mother.
WONDERFUL MOTHER
The skies reflect her faithfulness The birds sing of her tender care, for mother love comes from the heart And spreads its sunshine everywhere.
The picture is of a pair of Bluebirds flying across the sky over a typical 1930’s art deco garden.
Frame is carved wood and measures 6 ½” x 4 ½” and it has its original backing and wire hanger.
Tala Pastry Cutters in Tin
Set of four Tala Pastry cutters in their original cream and green tin case marked with PASTRY CUTTERS in green.
There is some rust to the cutters but the tin is in very nice clean condition with minimum rubbing to paint, hinged lid shuts nicely.
Pansy Oil Painting
This is a very attractive original oil painting of a vase of pansies . I would date this to around the 1930,s or 40s, and it would look lovely in any vintage or shabby chic style home. It is in an old frame which has a couple of small chips to the corners. There is a hanging hook on the back. It measures 8.2’’ x 10.6 ‘’. There is no signature.
Woman with Azaleas
Sharps Toffee Tin 1950’s
This is a very nice Sharp’s toffee tin that is in first class condition for its age. The picture on the front is of a woman looking through an Azalea. The colours are a lovely green with soft peach tones. All around the sides it is decorated with a floral frieze. Dating from the 1950’s This tin is quite unusual in the fact that it must have been produced just after the death of George Vi and just prior to Elizabeth II coming to the throne as it has “By Appointment to the late King George VI” on the side.
Measures 5” x 3 ¾” it is unusually clean and free from rust.
